Das s\u00fc\u00dfe Elixier ist eines der \u00e4ltesten und beliebtesten Nahrungsmittel \u00fcberhaupt. Zudem ist Honig nahezu unbegrenzt haltbar und hat viele wertvolle Inhaltsstoffe. Immer beliebter wird Manuka-Honig, ein Honig aus Neuseeland. Warum? Was zeichnet dieses Produkt aus?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"honig-aus-einem-myrtengewaechs\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Honig aus einem Myrtengew\u00e4chs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Manuka-Honig aus Neuseeland stammt vom Nektar der Bl\u00fcten des Manuka-Strauches. Dieser geh\u00f6rt zur Familie der Myrtengew\u00e4chse. Sie sind in Neuseeland und in Teilen Australiens heimisch. Manuka-Honig wird zertifiziert und nur so ist er auch wirklich echt und sortenrein. Der leckere Saft ist nur schwer zu erzeugen. Manuka-Pflanzen bl\u00fchen zwischen 2 und 6 Wochen im Jahr. Deshalb k\u00f6nnen die Bienen nur in dieser kurzen Zeit Nektar f\u00fcr den Honig sammeln. Es soll schlie\u00dflich reiner Manuka-Honig sein. Foto: Adobe Stock \/ ImagoDens<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"warum-soll-manuka-honig-so-wertvoll-sein\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Warum soll Manuka-Honig so wertvoll sein?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Im Manuka-Honig steckt der Wirkstoff\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Methylglyoxal\">Methylglyoxal<\/a>, abgek\u00fcrzt MGO. Dieser Stoff, eine Verbindung aus Enzymen, ist sehr wertvoll. Sein Anteil soll im Manuka-Honig sehr viel h\u00f6her sein als bei normalen Honigen. Deshalb wird auf dem Honigglas zur Orientierung meist mit Zahlen die Konzentration des MGO angegeben, beispielsweise mit 100+ oder sogar 1.000+.
